Protecting Your Peace: Simple Ways to Take Care of You

Posted on August 20, 2025August 20, 2025 By Alicia

Peace is something we all need. It helps you feel calm, clear, and strong inside. But with so much going on—school, friends, family, and all the little things—your peace can get pushed aside.

That’s why it’s important to protect it. When you take care of your peace, you take care of yourself. Here are four easy ways to do that every day:

1. Make Time for Self-Care

Self-care means doing things that help you feel good, rested, and healthy. It’s not selfish—it’s smart.

You might:

  • Read a book you love
  • Take a walk outside
  • Listen to music
  • Get enough sleep
  • Drink water and eat good food

Even just 10 minutes a day can make a big difference. Your mind and body need care, just like anything else that matters.

2. Take Breaks

You don’t have to go full speed all day long. In fact, trying to do too much without rest makes you feel worse.

Take breaks between tasks. Stretch, breathe, or step outside. Even a short break gives your brain a chance to reset. You’ll come back feeling more focused and less stressed.

3. Be Present and Enjoy the Moment

Sometimes, we spend so much time thinking about the past or worrying about the future that we miss what’s happening right now.

Try this: Stop for a moment. Look around. What do you hear? What do you see? What can you be thankful for right now?

When you stay in the moment, life feels lighter and more peaceful. Small things—like laughter, sunshine, or a deep breath—can bring big joy.

4. Ask for Support if You Need It

You don’t have to handle everything by yourself. If you’re feeling stressed, sad, or overwhelmed, talk to someone you trust.

This could be with a parent, teacher, friend, or counselor. They might not fix the problem, but they can help you feel less alone. That’s a big part of peace.

Let’s Keep it Real…

Your peace matters. It helps you stay strong, happy, and focused. So protect it every day—by caring for yourself, resting when you need to, enjoying the moment, and reaching out when things get heavy.

Peace doesn’t just show up—you build it, protect it, and choose it. And you deserve it. If you need more guidance, check out our Journal: From Calm to Chaos A 7-Day Reset

With Love,
