Trying to Figure Out Why You Can’t Find Peace—It’s Jealousy

Posted on August 24, 2025August 25, 2025 By Alicia

When You Think It’s Theirs…You Lose Yours

Jealousy is one of those quiet emotions that creeps in before we realize it. You scroll through social media and see someone on vacation. Someone who got the job. Someone who found love. Someone who just seems… peaceful.

And suddenly, without thinking, your own life feels less full. Less enough.

But here’s the truth:

Jealousy doesn’t just show up when someone has what you want. It shows up when you believe peace, happiness, or success is only available to them—and not you.

And that belief? That’s the real thief of peace.

Jealousy Isn’t About What They Have—It’s About What You Think You Can’t

It’s easy to think jealousy is about someone else:

  • They have more money.
  • They have more time.
  • They have a better relationship, better body, better life…

But underneath all of that is a belief about you:
That you’re behind. That you’re lacking. That you’re locked out of peace and someone else has the key.

That’s when…

Jealousy whispers, “They have what I can’t.”
Peace replies, “There’s enough for all of us—if I choose to claim it.”

So Here’s Why Jealousy Steals Peace

Jealousy is not just an emotion—it’s a mindset. And it thrives in scarcity.

When you believe that peace is limited or earned or gifted only to the lucky, you subconsciously put yourself in a position of permanent striving. You measure your calm against someone else’s curated highlight reel. And then you wonder why your heart feels so unsettled.

Unfortunately, you can’t be jealous and peaceful at the same time.
One tells you you’re behind.
The other says you’re already exactly where you are suppose to be.

Peace Isn’t Given—It’s Chosen

The most liberating truth is this:

Peace isn’t a prize. It’s a practice.

You don’t get peace when life is perfect. You get peace when you stop waiting for perfection to give you permission to rest.

You may not have their job. Their family. Their circumstances.

But you can choose:

  • To stop comparing.
  • To pause and breathe.
  • To create stillness in your own way, even in chaos.
  • To recognize what’s already enough in your life.

You can choose peace today—not when you finally “catch up,” but right where you are in this moment.

So, What Do You Do With Jealousy?

You don’t have to pretend it’s not there. But you don’t have to obey it either.

Try this instead:

  1. Notice it without shame.
“I feel jealous” is not the same as “I am jealous.” It’s just a signal.
  2. Ask what it’s really about.
Is it about what they have—or about what you believe you lack?
  3. Turn jealousy into curiosity.
What desire is this revealing? What do you want more of? Can you create it, even in a small way, now?
  4. Reaffirm your own path.
Their peace doesn’t take away from yours. You’re not behind. You’re not late. You’re just on a different journey.

In Case You Missed the Message: Your Peace Is Not on Their Timeline

When you believe that peace is only available to others, jealousy will always be at the door ready to close it. But the moment you realize that peace is already within reach—not once you’re better, richer, prettier, or more “together”—everything shifts for the better.

Always remember…Jealousy is a thief. Peace is a choice.
And you don’t have to wait for permission to choose it.

You can begin again—now, right where you are! It’s time to work! No more looking at them, it’s all about your here. Check out the Digital Workbook: 30 Days to Peace to get you started.

With Love,

Alicia
